Local 1845 is represented by 74 full-time firefigthers which
provides fire and EMS services to the city of Mentor out
of 5 stations. 1845 was chartered on May 14th, 1969.
The city of Mentor, which is located East of
Cleveland, is 28 square miles with a population of
52,000 residents. Mentor is the largest city in Lake Couty
and is also the 6th largest retail city in the state of Ohio.
Local 1845 has become very active in the community the
past 10 years with MDA, It's Better In Mentor Festival, and Feed
the Needy.
Local 1845 was honored in 2000 with the Organization
of the Year, from the Mentor Chamber of Commerce. It's
the first time a city organization has won the award.
